Do you have a plan for personal and professional growth?
What are you doing to become a better writer?
In John C. Maxwell’s title, The 15 Invaluable LAWS of GROWTH, he mentions the Law of Intentionality and states that without purposeful intention, the odds are greater you will not accomplish growth or success.
As a writer ‘wishing and wanting’ alone will not get you a book contract or published success. Wishing gets you nothing but a contagious headache.
A contagious headache: when one shares their undeveloped ideas with agents and editors, causing said agents and editor to smack themselves upside the head in befuddlement—hence the headache contagion spreading to others.
John C. Maxwell states there are many reasons we are not intentional; with fear, and not being willing to make a mistake being two reasons I recognize.
Ask yourself the hard questions.
John offers a few:
Where do you want to go in life?
What’s the farthest you can imagine going?
Get started. Make a plan.
Learn what constitutes a story arc
Attend a one day writer’s conference

Take a public speaking course

It is OK that it is the end of March and not Jan 1st.
Every day is a good day to begin fresh.
P.S.: You might want to pick up a copy of John’s book. It’s been a huge help to me, and I’m only two days in.
